Treadle Switch

Treadle Foot SwitchAnyone who has used a sewing machine will be familiar with the concept of this switch, which measures 90 x 65 x 25 mm.

The treadle switch requires a huge 700g to operate and consequently I tend to recommend this as a foot-operated switch for people who have good voluntary foot movement. Because of the high pressure required, one can rest their foot on the switch without accidentally activating it.

The switch is similar to a lever switch but don't think that there's a right or wrong way round when you place it on the floor. Some of my clients have preferred to have the lower end (with the wire coming out) facing them as intended by the manufacturer; but some clients have preferred it the other way around.
