Enabling Mouse Pointer Trails in Windows 10

Pointer trails can make the mouse pointer much easier to see and follow. Windows first introduced pointer trails to make it easier to see the mouse pointer on the older LCD monitors found in the first laptops.

You might also benefit from changing the size and colour of the pointer or locating the pointer through a keypress.

Here’s how to enable pointer trails on your Windows 10 PC.

Open the Windows Start menu and click on the gear icon.

Select “Devices” item in the Windows Settings menu.

Click on “Mouse & touchpad”

Scroll down and click on the “Additional mouse options” link under Related Settings

Click on “Pointer Options” tab in the window that appears

Check “Display pointer trails” in the Visibility Section. You can vary the length of the pointer trails from short to long.

Click on “OK” button to save your changes and close the window.
