Joysticks can be used in the place of mice and
rollerballs to move the pointer around the screen. Most of the joysticks
in this list
are designed specifically for users with physical difficulties and they
are very different to games joysticks. However, it is also possible to use a regular games joystick to move the mouse if you install some free software .
Use of specialist hardware should be combined with adjustments made to Windows mouse accessibility options.

If you can do without the three extra buttons then this is a significantly more affordable joystick than the Plus model (above). This joystick lets you plug switches directly in to the back.
This is a games joystick that comes bundled with a piece of software that lets it control the mouse pointer. This joystick is not particularly robust.
Its possible to operate the mouse pointer or the text cursor using a standard USB Games Joystick or GamePad. You'll need to download free Joystick 2 Mouse software (widely available on the Internet) or Sensory Software's equally free Switch Driver.
You can even use controllers designed to work with games consoles such as the Sony PlayStation via special converter box.
